1. Both parties must be in The Bahamas at the time of the application.
2. You must be in the Bahamas for 24 hours before you can apply
for your marriage license. The licensing office is closed on weekends
and Bahamian Holidays so couples wishing to be married on the weekend
must arrive in the Bahamas no later than the Thursday before their
wedding if they are to meet the "24-hour residency requirement".
3. Residency is still 24 hours; however processing for marriage
license is 2 business days prior to your wedding.
4. No blood test is necessary.
5. If you have never been married before, Affidavits of Marital
Status will be required. Affidavit will be arranged by your consultant
as it has to be prepared by a Bahamian attorney or notary public.
6. If you have been divorced or widowed, original or court-certified
divorce papers or death certificate must be presented in order for
you to get your license. Divorce papers and death certificates are
kept by the licensing office and are not returned.
7. Each party will need Passport and or driver's license along
with birth certificate
