Requirements
CONSULTANT: To qualify as a consultant,
please submit all of the items below with your
application. (All applications for Consultant membership
are subject to review and approval)

Copies of Business license (two years)
·
Evidence of a working business phone and fax
·
Evidence of email address and website
·
Accounts established with three local suppliers (written letters)
·
Referrals from three brides within the past year / Survey forms
·
Recommendation letters from 2 BBA members
·
Participation in Continuing
education
·
Attendance of Wedding Seminars
or Show every other year
·
Attend Ministry of Tourism
quarterly meetings and events
·
Completion of ABC or Weddings
Beautiful course (within 6 months)
·
Liability Insurance coverage
·
Payment of membership fee
AUXILLARY:
* Completion of MOT/Bahama Host course
·
Working with a licensed company that is presently a BBA
consultant member in good
standing
NOVICE: To qualify as a novice,
please submit all
of the items below with your application.
(All applications for Novice membership are subject
to review and approval)

Standards of Membership & Code of Ethics
Standards of Membership
(You
must agree to these in order to obtain membership.)
Member will:
- Cooperate with Association
activities and efforts to promote and improve the professionalism
of the bridal business.
- Respond rapidly and
honestly to all complaints forwarded by the Association.
- Supply, on request,
the evidence on which any advertising is based.
- Use the Association’s
name and logo only as authorized.
- Pay all association
bills in a timely manner.
Code of Ethics
Members will:
- Represent each client
fairly and honestly, providing all agreed-to services
in a timely and cost-efficient manner.
- Establish reasonable,
proper fees for services and provide written estimates
to each client.
- Use honest factual
advertising.
- Deal with employees
fairly, in an unbiased manner
- Operate an establishment
that is a credit to the Association and the community.
- Disclose to clients
any payment received from suppliers
For all levels, membership must be maintained in good
standing.
As a
member of the Bahamas Bridal Association, I agree to the

consultants and potential clients.

Representation on www.bahamas.com:
Upcoming changes at the Ministry of Tourism will require
that wedding professionals be part of the BBA if they
are to be included in promotions and on-line sales handled
through the www.bahamas.com website.

How will Membership Fees be Used?
Membership
fees will be used:

To
pay BBA incorporation costs
·
To
pay for BBA logo development
·
To
pay for BBA website development and hosting
·
To
pay for BBA promotional materials
·
To
pay for BBA toll free number
·
To
pay for BBA seminar participation
As
the association develops, other costs may arise that cannot
be paid from membership fees. These items will be brought
before the members to determine how they should be funded.
